Curriculum

What does your child learn at school each day?

As many of our classes have mixed year groups, we run a three year cycle in Key Stage One and Reception and a Four Year Cycle in Key Stage Two.  This ensures all of the objectives for each year group are covered but also ensures children do not repeat coverage of history and geography topics, for example.

Please look in 'Curriculum Cycles' for more information on how this works.

These cycles are regularly reviewed to ensure we provide the best, broad and balanced curriculum possible so that children are gaining skills as well as knowledge when they are learning about a diverse range of subjects.

Further information about each particular subject can also be found below, this includes a progression of skills document which shows what is taught in each year group, although these are also currently being reviewed.

Each year we have a School Development Evening where subject leaders share all of the achievements within their subject for the year as well as plans for the next year.

If you have any additional questions about our curriculum please contact our school office and ask to speak to Mrs Crompton, the Headteacher.

Please note all curriculum documents should be read with reference to our Equality Plan
