Dear Parents and Carers I would like to share with you the latest guidance that we have received about the Coronavirus. Self-Isolation The most recent advice given states that anyone with a new persistent cough OR high temperature is advised to self-isolate for seven days as the UK government moves to the "delay" phase of its plan to tackle Coronavirus. If your child has developed either of these symptoms please keep them away from school for seven days following the start of the temperature or cough. Please call or email the school to let us know what you are doing, but you will not be required to contact us on a daily basis as we would expect with any other illness. Please note that the advice is for a "new" cough. We appreciate that this will be difficult to assess but it is important to remember that many other viruses are still circulating at this time of year. The self-isolation period is for 7 days unless symptoms worsen, in which case you should call NHS 111. It is not necessary for other family members or siblings to self-isolate unless they too are displaying symptoms, but you may want to be more vigilant with siblings who are in school in terms of looking out for symptoms. We will keep a log of all children that are under self-isolation for 7 days and ask that you contact us on the 8th day if your child has not returned to school. We have ordered additional supplies of anti-bacterial hand-wash and paper towels so that all classrooms are well supplied.
