Photography Guidelines

Dear Parents/Carers,

We recently asked parents and carers for their views on our current photography policy.  An overwhelming majority of you voted for an amendment to our current practice. We would therefore like to embark on a trial period where the following policy rules will be put in place.

Below is a summary of the changes, which we hope you will find useful.

                               DOs

      DON’Ts

DO take pictures of your own children

Don’t take pictures of any other children

DO take pictures or videos before or after school events

Don’t take pictures or videos during events e.g. plays, concerts or expresses. Enjoy the moment!

DO take videos or pictures of your child during sports day

Don’t take videos or pictures of other children during sports day

DO check the school’s Facebook page for pictures or videos of school events

Don’t put any pictures or videos on social media,  these pictures are for your personal use only

This is a big change for our school and children’s safety is our first concern so if we find parents or carers are unable to adhere to the rules we will not change our current practice. The trial period will run until the end of the summer term and then parents, staff and governors views will be gathered before a final decision is made.

Please be assured we will still take photographs of children in and around school and post these updates on our school Facebook Page.  We will also still adhere to your permissions regarding the photos we publish.  Therefore if you have refused permission for your child to appear on Facebook or the website, this will still stand.

If you would like to meet with me to discuss your thoughts for or against the guidelines above I would be happy to take your views into consideration.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
